What's in the Name
Ostraca is the Plural Of "Ostracon" Which Means a Special Kind of "Flakes"; While a Flake is a small fragment of something broken off from the whole. "Ostracon" means "Flakes used in Antiquity Especially by Ancient Egyptians and Greeks as a Surface for Drawings or Sketches or as an Alternative to Papyrus for Writing".
